 Masterwork copy of Gustav Klimt's Danae that I did for my Intro to Painting class. Could still use some work (especially in the hair and front chiffon fabric), but I sort of ran out of steam once the semester ended and I like it where it is now. I didn't find out until AFTER the fact that the original is actually a helluva lot lighter. The reference image I had was this dark, I swear. This is all water-based oils with lots and lots of linseed oil. 12"x12".
In other news... I may soon be departing LiveJournal. Each month the owners of this site sell-out a little more and make the LJ experience a sad and disheartening excuse of what it used to be. I've stuck around for so long because I loved seeing the artwork of friends and others progress. I'll still be checking out everyone's work on here, but any new updates of my own will be on my blog: visionsofpigeons.blogspot.com. Quick PS fuckin' around with ( this original drawing I did. )
Got bored over break and did these. Over-emphasizing facial lines and making people look like they're in their 50s is good fun. Poor, poor Annie Clark. Can't decide if the color version or b&w is better. The digital coloring is a new thing for me... I'm pretty apprehensive and unskilled of/at it.
New Year! Gotta get some things done. Life is going to start changing majorly, soon. Happy holidays to all.
